Symantec Norton Disk Doctor

[JAKE]

JAKE .. I tried this and the window that opened was also
empty. Do you think I need to uninstall and reinstall
the NDD? I have searched the FAQ's at Symantec, and
haven't found anything that addresses this.

Do you have just NDD (Norton Disc Doctor) or all of the Norton Utilities?
Try to right click on the recycle bin and click on properties and then click
on the "Norton Protection" tab and make sure the "Enable protection" box is
checked.
