having trouble with Outlook Express when i go into my
email a box pops up with my user name and blank box with
my password..i have been using the same password for
years but was sent to an area where i was told to change
my password..now on that box user name comes up but i
have to type in my password each time..i want to know if
the password box can be secure so that i do not have to
type in password everytime i go into Outlook Express and
why that box has to pop up...

Open Outlook Express:
Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties Button > Servers Tab ... see if Remember My Password is checked.

I have a similar problem. Remember My Password is checked, but I have to type the pasword each time.

I suspect that the pw recorded via the Servers Tab is not the correct pw that you need to access your e-mail; thus you have to type it in. Since the pw on the Servers Tab is not "in the clear" you could use a pw revealer to verify this. There is a pw rev
ealer that will show exactly what pw is recorded on the Servers Tab .. its available as part of a freeware toolbar from http://www.metaeureka.com/download.shtml
