Spell check settings

I just upgraded to Word XP yesterday. While setting some
personal preferences, I evidently set something in the
spell check
commands that is preventing me from spell checking.

When I try to spell check I get a message that first says
everything is checked, then a second window that
says "Text marked with "Do not check spelling or grammer"
was skipped.

I have typed in purposfully misspelled words in several
different documents, did not knowing "mark" anything and
got the same result, reset what I can think of to no
avail. Help!

In Word, go to Help/Microsoft Word Help/Type in Spell Checking/Search/
Troubleshoot Spell Checking. In OE, go to Tools/Options/Spelling.
