Should i use dvd blank cds?

Should I use dvd blank cds. because when i click save to cds i have a cd r cd that you mainly use for music but it says that works too but when i press next it says that theres not enough pace but i know there is because it's a huge cd and my video is smal
l and i made sure all my files were in the first place they were put and left them there and i still know where they are but when i press it it doesn't work
