I have somehow gotten one of my files changed to a
shortcut. How do I change it back

Right-click on the shorcut and click PROPERTIES to see where the "target"
is. That should point to the file, provided that the file launches
normally when the shortcut is clicked.

There's no way a file can change to a shortcut by itself. A
shortcut is a pointer to the file. If you don't know where the
file is, right-click on the shortcut and choose Properties; Under
"target" it will show you where the file pointed to is.
If that doesn't help, write back with more specific information
about what happened and exactly what you see.
