Downloaded and installed updates Q329441, Q810577, Q810833
and Service Pack 1 about a month ago and have not had
occasion to use Windows Explorer. Now when I click to open
Windows Explorer it opens my Documents folder instead.
Tried this from 3 different sources with the same result.
The Target is %System Root % explorer.exe and Starts in %
Home Drive%%Home Path %. Appears that something is wrong
in the Registry but I do not know how to correct. Can
anyone help? Would appreciate it.

Where do you want the focus at when you open Explorer?

For focus on My Computer use the target line:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,

For focus to be on C: change it to:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,c:

Another thing that I've noticed is that if you open Windows Explorer
from the Start menu shortcut, it goes to My Documents, BUT if you hold
the Windows key and hit E, it defaults to the My Computer location. Go
figure. Sharon, do you have a setting that will change that behavior
also?

The Windows key shortcuts are hardcoded.
There are some XP settings to block some of the builtin keyboard shortcuts
but IRRC, none to change their actions,

I was afraid of that, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks for
the reply.
