Netgear FA312 with XP Drivers from XP cd

I had one hell of a lot of problems with this card, even now it's under
device manager as "netgear FA312#2

But there is only one card installed?

I tried everything to get this to show "normal" but no joy, even wiped the
hard disk, clean installed, but still shows as card #2 or #3 if in a
different pci slot.

It won't install as only one card.

The pc downstairs has the same card, and no problem, also XP Pro

Seems to have logged itself in Cmos or something.

Supermicro Board, P3saa I think with Intel 800mhz 370 chip

Regards
Bob

What exactly is the problem? Does the card work okay? If yes, is the listing
a cosmetic problem only or is there a card #1 showing in additon to #2?
