Error msg with Briefcase: Briefcase is in use on another computer

I keep getting this error:

Briefcase Open
The Briefcase is in use on another computer.
Close the Briefcase on that computer and then try again.
OK

Anybody knows how to get ride of this constant message
bugging me each time I try to open, from an application
(ex. from Word), a file stored on my briefcase? I know, I
only get this when the Briefcase is also open in Windows
Explorer. But I WANT the Briefase to also be open in
Windows Explorer so I get easy access to the content.

This was not a problem in Win98. Very annoying. Anyone
has a solution (other than selecting something else than
the Briefcase folder in Windows Explorer)...?

Hi,

The only other reference I have seen was: "I'm trying to use Briefcase to
easily sync our local files to our network files. We also work in a
directory with in the Briefcase" ... no fix noted.
