XP Home on Notebook is missing ALL Userids

When I booted up the PC this morning, everything went
fine until it finished with the login page and there were
NO Userids ( there were 5) to click on.. I tried the old
<ctrl><Alt><del> and I did get a prompt for a userid and
password like Windows 2000. I tried two different Admin
accounts but it doesn't know any of them... Help...

What was last being done with this machine?
Have you tried Safe mode yet?
