View Full Version : Safe mode MUP.SYS

When I try to boot into safe mode ) with F8), The computer loads down to
where it tries to load a file called "MUP.SYS", then it goes no farther.
Any suggestions?

That is the last file that gets loaded, so the trouble is in subsequent
initialisation of things. Probably a trouble with the base level
drivers, especially with the video one. Boot normally, put the CD in
the drive, then Start - Run the line
SFC /SCANNOW
to refresh damaged system files
