View Full Version : Search assistant freezes.
Its only me
December 6th 03, 01:16 PM
Having reformatted my hard drive and reinstalling XP, I find that the search
assistant no longer works. When I try a search, the assistant tells me
searching but I get a dialog box saying "search companion" in the title bar,
a yellow warning triangle and an ok button. In the left pane it says
searching and has a stop button. The animated character still moves but
nothing is found. If I click ok, the window remains open but nothing
happens. In the event/application viewer, there is no mention of a fault.
Is this a common problem???
Thanks in advance,
Larry
