I've recently upgraded from Windows 98 to XP Home edition
and, while windows shuts down alright, unlike before, the
computer does not automatically turn off,i.e., I have to
manually switch it off. This doesn't seem right,
particularly as the computer would turn off automatically
when I was using Windows 98. Can anyone help pse?

Hi,

Control Panel/Power Options, you likely need to enable APM, it is not
enabled by default during installation.
