I have recently installed xp.
How can I get rid of the annoying pop-up which asks to sign up for Net
Passport?
Thanks.

This reminder can be disabled if you are not using Passport or MSN
Messenger.
Open your registry and find or create the key below.
User Key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MessengerServ ice]
Create a new Binary value, or modify the existing value, called
"PassportBalloon" and set it according to the value data below.
Value Name: PassportBalloon
Data Type: REG_BINARY (Binary Value)
Value Data: "0a 00 00 00" = disabled
Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the
change to take effect.
Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going
edit > new.

along those same line, how do I get the help and support
center to stop popping up asking me to upgrade my dvd
player... I'm going to do some shopping before I
purchase this software, but I don't want to be hassled
for weeks while I decide! thanks.
