Hipo

When I got 'xp', and tried to install it, I did it as a
new application, instead of just upgrading my
windows 'me'. Now I have 2 windows 'xp's on my computer:
One is the upgraded one I want to keep, and the other is
the mistakenly installed 'new' application. When I turn on
the computer, I have to choose which 'xp' to run. This is
really slowing my already not too fast computer down. I
tried going to the uninstall menu in the 'bad' xp, but
the 'xp' program is not there. Actually nothing is there.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????
ANYONE?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Boot into the system you want to keep. Open Windows Explorer and delete =
the system files for the oneyou wish to remove. Then check folder =
options/view tab and ensure you can see both hidden and system files. =
Locate boot.ini on the root of the boot partition and double-click it to =
open it in notepad for editing. Remove the lines referencing the system =
you no longer want.

If the system you are keeping is not the default choice on the boot =
menu, start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab, select the entry you =
want to keep and click "set as default".
