help! where has my old stuff gone??

my brilliant daughter decided to go ahead and install
windows xp without my permission. my friend was already
attempting to save my old stuff with a partition...how do
i find out if my daughter erased the old stuff or she
managed to install xp on a separate area???

Hi,

Does the system boot?
Did the WinXP installation complete?

Start/search/files.

Look under the user profiles for stuff that carried over:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>
