IM + OE always starts tuner sound card

I have a TV tuner sound card, running Windows XP, OE 6
and MSM IM (Latest), when I start either OE ,or IM, the
sound starts from the tv tuner -

Tried everything I could think of, - short of some
regedit, pstore fix.

Hauperpauge linked it to MSM Messenger. Anyone hear of
this problem ? I've been searching for weeks.

Greetings Jeff,

This is the first I've heard of something like this, but I have an idea that may solve the
problem. If you open the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Audio Tuning
Wizard (or Audio/Video Tuning Wizard, depending on version), go through the wizard and when
it gets to the point where you're supposed to select your video input/camera device, choose
either a webcam (if you have one) or choose None, then continue through the wizard. After
the wizard is complete, see if you still see the same behavior.
