I want my connect to drop

When I am online, I want my phone to drop my internet
connection and allow the phone to ring. I am on Windows
XP Professional, I have an ISP, and I have enabled dialing
rules to dial *70 to turn off the call waiting. But right
now, when someone calls me while I'm online, they get a
busy signal. It's not possible for me to get a second
phone line where I am. I don't want to have to get a cell
phone that people can call when the line is busy. Any

*70 DISABLES Call Waiting.
That means your modem will NOT disconnect you when you are dialed up and if
you do not get voicemail, it will not forward to that either, thus giving
the caller a busy signal.

If you have call waiting, don't disable it.

If you want your connection to drop, do not dial *70 first. Then when the
call waiting beep happens, it may drop your connection. Unfortunately(!),
I've found that since I got a 56k modem, it's much too robust and does not
drop the line. Sorry I don't have a better solution for you. Let me know
if that works for you.

If you are in the UK why not subscribe to the BT answer service it won't
cost you anything and if the line is busy it will automatically go to that
so they can leave a message then you just dial 1571 to listen to any while
you've been online.

My ISP has a service that might be what you are looking for. You
can't talk to them immediately when they call, but you'll know when
they call, & you can log off & call them right back. Maybe your ISP
offers a similar service. Sorry, but it's not free. It'll cost you
$3.95 a month for the regular version.
