Hi Bruce,
Start/run regsvr32 regwizc.dll
Then start/run regsvr32 licdll.dll
See if this helps.

Hi Bruce,
Boot to Safe mode, start/run msconfig. On the general tab select diagnostic
mode. Click apply/ok and reboot. See if this allows it to boot normally.
*If* it does, then the problem is due to a software conflict (program or
service) and you will need to slowly reenable them to discover which.

Rick,
I went into safe mode and using MSCONFIG changed the mode to diagnostic with reboot as you requested . Windows initiates and when I try to LOGON, I get the same error message.
I went back into safe mode and using MSCONFIG set the mode back to normal.
It ticks me off that the code that is holding me out is the licensing check code that Microsoft uses to protect their software. I don't understand how the license check software could get corrupted. I'm running fine for months and then one day when I log o
ff I can't get back on again.

Hi Bruce,
I don't have any other real answers here. Did you make any system changes or
install/upgrade any software prior to this happening? Update antivirus
software?

Rick,
I didn't make any changes. It really came out of the blue.
I'm building a new PC. Hopefully I can copy the files over
from this one and come back online with the new platform.
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Please keep us updated on your progress. Also, just a thought, but if you
create a new user account in safe mode, does it allow you to log onto it in
normal mode?
