My friend just got new computer with Windows XP Home
edition on it. This is new and she has never been on
internet before and is afraid to press a key. I thought an
online tutorial would be good for her but the one is
geared for Windows XP Professional.

Is there really that much difference and would this
tutorial only confuse her?

I am Windows ME user so cannot judge.

Thanks for any information.

Susan, there is an ad on television about a guy who sells tutorial CDs
covering just such a subject. The problem is that I can't remember what it
is called. They look like they might be worth it. In fact, she could
probably order a free tutorial of her choice for the price of shipping of
the CD. Sorry I can't give you details. Also, you might run a search on
computer tutorials through Google and see what you come up with. I am sure
there are some out there somewhere. Good luck.

They are for all practical purposes identical.

Also, don't send for the CD advertised on TV. It is merely a sample lesson
and very very incomplete.

There are very few differences between XP Professional and
Home---just a few extra features in Professional, mostly geared
to Security and networking. Probably well over 95% of what she
would learn here would be correct for her system.
