May have deleted important files-HELP!!!!!!!!

I have Windows XP on a DEll Comp. I recently ran Norton
anti-virus, it found a virus and it deleted some files and
now I have problems. I cannot do anything with Java now, I
could before. Half the time internet pages don't load
right and the Media Player won't open it says 'Internal
Error'.My system restore and search just open to a blank
screen and I'm sure there are other things I haven't found
out about. Is there any way to find out if there were
impotant files that wre deleted and how to reinstall them.
I am basically comp stupid and need some HELP!!!

Reload Java from www.sun.com
