problem with cd rom

when i load a cd my system does not show the current cd
playing but a previous cd which has been removed. On
trying to play the cd I am advised that the cd is not
loaded when it is. On otaining an error report i am
advised the system shows "The device\Device\cd rom has a
bad block"

Help!!
i am very new to this and am unlikely to become old!!
Any advice would be appreciated

Double-click "my computer", highlight the cd drive, On the toolbar, view, refresh...
