View Full Version : Won't install; On-line support worthless

When I try to install Windows XP Professional on a new
computer using boot diskettes downloaded from Microsoft, I
get the following:

The following value in the .SIF file used by Setup is
corrupt or missing.

Value 0 on the line in section [Source Disk Files] with
key "SP1.cab"

Any ideas?

Have you tried booting the WinXP CD for installation?
You may need to go into the BIOS and set the CD-ROM to boot before the
Harddrive does.
All the tools necessary are on the CD.
