I have a cable modem using an ethernet card, but I also
have an external 56K modem. (out thru phone line - in thru
cable).
I turn on the modem and open Internet Explorer to "kick
start" the modem. It'll dial and connect but my browser
already beat it to "Page cannot be displayed". At that
point, my local area connection shows that I'm connected
at 10/Mbps, but when I refresh IE, I still get "page
cannot be displayed". I close IE out and re-open it with
the same results. It instantly goes to "page cannot be
displayed"
TCP/IP displays a 169 number (or zeros and "invalid
address") I try to repair it and it goes to all zeros.
Rebooting (sometimes several times) is the only answer.
Anyone have a solution.......please.
