I have a new Dell with Windows XP Pro. My computer has
access only to phone line no#2. Previous use with NEC
and a Dell laptop with XP no problem. Setting up new
computer with XP Pro...the modem, somehow has accessed
phone line no#1 that is not even available at this
outlet. My question is how has this happen and how can I
correct it...cable is not an option

Go to Start - show all connections and manually edit your connection.
(If that is what you are trying to say....)
