View Full Version : My Documents - Folders View

When I open My Documents it opens up with a panel on the
left side with a blue border that shows "File and Folder
Tasks" and "Other Places".

I do not need this information so I have customized it so
that a folder view icon is present on the top. I
routinely click on the Folders icon becuase I find the
folder view much more helpful for my needs.

How can I set up My Documents to AUTOMATICALLY be in
folders view when I open it?

Thanks

Hi,

Common Tasks View - Disable or Enable (Line 78)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

I've got a better one: how do I *eliminate* the My Documents,
My Pictures, etc junk? (I'll do my own filing, thanks)

This is a global setting: Folder Options> General. Remove check next to
"show common tasks in folders."
