windows xp pro istallation is stalling at BIOS

HELP! during installation of xp pro
over windows 2000 each time
it stops at step 3: upgrade the BIOS
it will NOT provide me with the BIOS link
my current BIOS version is A01
my system id is Dimension 8200
when I cklick on "next step"
it sends me back to step 3
A VICIOUS CIRCLE !!!!!!
Can anyone help?? PLEASE????

Call Dell, they'll have the proper flash for your BIOS, if they support =
it.

Depends on your motherboard. Watch the screen during Boot-Up and it
should tell you to hit (key) to enter setup. <key> is commonaly F1, F2,
F10, or <DEL>. But, it can be anything.

BIOS has nothing to do with which OS you run. It loads before the OS to
give the sysem information about devices it need to startup.
