desktop shortcut

If I want to put a shortcut to a program on the desktop I right click but
get the message 'no cmc mail provider is currently installed'. What does
this mean and how do I put it on the desktop? I do it by 'creating
shortcut' and dragging it to desktop and renaming, but I know with '98 I
didn't have to do this! Thanks

There's a patch for this at Kelly's Korner. I'm not seeing it in the
tweaks area (surprisingly), but you can download it via her A-Z in the
S section under "send to".
