I'm getting rid of my old system with 98SE, and am doing
a format followed by clean install of the OS. It goes
through no problem, and gets to the last step of the
installation process (about 10 minutes left in the status
bar) and it just stops once it gets to step 2, "windows
is setting up the programs for your start menu." Before
it gets "quiet" it tries to read something from the
floppy drive it seems, and then gives up and doesn't do
anything. It's been sitting on this step with 10 minutes
left for about 45 minutes now. I tried starting from
scratch again and it does the same thing. It doesn't ask
for a floppy, nor do a have one to give. Does anyone
have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Richard
