I am not trying to network the computers. But, now and then, I want to
be able to get files from or to another computer in my house. We all
share a cable modem connectiona via a router. I used to be able to go
to my file manager, click on tools then "MAP NETWORK DRIVE", then pick
a drive from a drop down list (like "z") and pick a Folder, also from
a drop down list. I always chose "\\Upstairs\Kids Hard Drive", and it
worked fine. Now I just get another message that says..."The drive
could not be mapped, because no network was found."

What does that mean? What happened? Can anyone help?

To reply directly, remove the "obvious" from the return email address.

During install, the system setup launched and set up the outbound
internet connection, but probably failed to set up the home network.
Make sure both computers are on and launch the hom networking wizard.
Programs|accessories|communications|network setup wizard
Both computers Must be running!
