Thanks, but is there a way to turn something on so that I can see the pictures. I know in old DOS you could turn graphics on and be able to view stuff. Isn't there some way in XP

Hi Walt,
Those are not graphics, as such, just key strokes that have taken on a
meaning. There is nothing to turn on. Some e-mail programs have little
graphics such as smiley faces etc. I think there are some available for OE,
not sure but, I think I saw them somewhere.

That's what I am talking about. I thought you could make the little characters appear at the end of the sentence. Like you can when using yahoo messenger.

Now that I know a little more of what I am trying to do and from the help I have received here I found this in a google search: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Email_Tools/Mail_Signature_Tools/PostSmile.html
Not excately what I am looking for but it's a start.
