I know I'm not the only one who has problems with XP and
CD reading/burning. Let's start a thread with different
solutions (that work) to the problem.
Too many times I've gotten a system error when trying to
read files from a data CD. Burning a CD using the built
in feature, and then finding out it's "blank" when I go
to read it. Problems with deleting temporary files that
XP is "waiting" to burn to CD.
Here is my most current solution:
When I'm not burning a CD, go to the drive properties and
disable Recording. This gets rid of XP's recording
option and doesn't get in the way of reading a CD. When
I want to burn a CD, I enable recording, and use nero
5.5. Finish the process, and then disable recording
until future needs. I know this isn't the most efficient
method, but it's been working so far.
What is everyone else doing to work around this issue?
(Hopefully) I'm not the only one left still tinkering
around with this!
Looking forward to some replies.
Regards,
Richard
