automatic restart after windows shut down

My Compaq Presario 6029us turns itself back on when I turn off the computer with the shut down button. I have tried to remove programs with known incompatibility (Roxio Easy CD Creator) with windowes XP(home edition), and I have turned off the "automatic
restart upon system failure" under advanced system settings. I have also checked that I don't have a trojan horse virus (could have started my pc remotely through my internet cable connection). Has anyone had the same problem and figured out how to solve
it?

Does your system BIOS have any "Wake on..." options enabled such as "Wake
on Ring" or "Wake on LAN"? Check your system documentation for directions
on how to enter the BIOS menus.

A faulty contact in the on/off switch or an inconsistent power source could
also cause self-starts.

Have you installed any kind of older logitech software? That will often
cause it to happen as well.
