Can't kill frozen task

Hi,
The classic version of Windows Media Player froze up on me a while ago.
I tried to kill the process using the task manger but it wouldn't close. I
searched the internet to see if there was a command I could use to kill it.
The one I found was the taskkill command. I tried using it with the force
parameter (taskkill /F /PID 1202) and also (taskkill /F /IM mplayer2.exe),
but it was unsuccessful. Its been setting like that for an hour already.
Is there anyway to kill that process without having to manually reset the
computer.

ive got no idea if this works but, close explorer then try to close media player and then restart explorer

I tried that but it didn't work. I initiated a restart but that didn't work
either, the only things I have open now is notepad and a non-working
mplayer2, everything else was closed with the attempted restart. Once I am
done with my lab report Im just going to shut this down manually. I just
posted this to see if anyone knows how to kill these processes.
