| I have just loaded xp home edition onto a new hard drive, before doing this I made a back up of the files I
wanted to keep, using windows 98.

| Now I cannot find the commands in XP to restore the backup.

There's NO POINT in telling the OP about that - XP backup will NOT recognise
W98 Backups! Another example of MS not doing joined-up thinking - the other
good one is that Outlook 2002 will not recognise account settings exported
from Outlook 2000!!!!! Do the people at MS do ANY thinking at all?

Could you post the link? I'd be very interested in it.
Thanks

I have not tried this yet, I'll let you know if this works
http://downloads.zdnet.co.uk/downloads/download/1003-2242-10176011.html
The newer versions don't work but this one will.

They wrote 'File and Settings Transfer Wizard' instead which can run
on older Windows and XP. So you can backup files between 98 and XP.
