HELP, My computer is always restarting

I have window's xp, and it is always restarting itself. I
disabled the auto-restart in control panel, but it still
does it. I also found that when I boot up in the morning
it takes more then 7 trys before it completes the turning
on. And last it sometimes crashes for no reason, the
computer could also be sitting doing nothing when all of
these things happen. Please help, Thank you.

You might want to check and see if you have bad memory sims. If you have 2
chips take one out and see what happens. It will be slower but just try it.
Then put it back in and try taking out the other sim to see if that is
causing your problem.

Also do a scan for viruses and spyware (http://www.safer-networking.org/ )

Hello again,

Thank you for your help, however, I checked the computer
and it's not overheating and the memory chips were fine.
I also did Norton and Spyware check and it is still doing
it. I had called a computer repair man and he had no
idea, yet he did charge me for the looking at it. If
anyone has an idea I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks
