I keep getting the error message "access denied ! please
log in with administrator privelages and try again" when
i try to run a game on my computer

There is only one account on the computer and it is a
computer admin account and the guest account is turned
off.

I get the same message if I try to make another computer
admin account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you SURE you are logged-in as Administrator and NOT as a user CALLED
"Administrator"? What version of XP have you got?

BTW if you ARE logged in as Administrator, it is a very bad thing to use
the Administrator account for daily use. Set up a user account, give it
administrator rights, and use that. If your log-in goes belly up, and
you are using the Administrator Account only, then you're stuffed. The
only way to get into your PC then would be by doing a repair install of
XP.

Boot into Safe Mode and use the builtin 'Administrator' user to
reset passwords.
