On bootup, before XP loads, message " Drive A not ready insert boot disk in drive A. Get this on every boot attempt even after boot from disk. HELP!!

Most likely your PC is looking for your OS in your floppy drive, Most BIOS's have an option to set up boot device order, go into your BIOS and make sure that your PC is searching for your OS on the hard drive first.
