I have just installed XP pro on a computer. Then I am
using it the hole system freezes up and the only what I
can get it to work again is if I hit the reset button. The
system was runing win98SE with out any problems for months.

I have a Sound blaster 4.1 sound card
Sound blaster Titanium 4600.
jetway motherborad and 1.2Ghz AMD processor.
I am also running norton utils and firewall 2003

I no the machine is not overheating as I have monitored
it, it does not get over 42C and normal runs at about 36C.

I have down loaded all the patches from the update page
and still have the problem, even during the down load and
install it locked up. Can any one suggest a solution.

Try testing your system memory with:
Windows Memory Diagnostic
