can anyone help....xp pro keeps asking for disk labeled ECD544P90X....dont know where to find it

It is asking for a driver for you 3com NIC. You can probably just browse to
\windows\system32\drivers and it will read the existing file from there
unless one is missing.

If your machine has a 3Com ethernet adapter it may be it.
