Random freezing usually signifies a problem with RAM or a bad RAM slot.
There are software RAM testers that can be used to test memory. I use
the Tufftest utilities for this (http://www.tufftest.com/) but there are
free memory testers available too.

I had the same problem, Ran Ad-aware and it found two reg
keys from spyware, after removing them it has not locked
up, been about a hour and a half longer then it normally
takes to lockup. Try running Ad-aware with the last
signature file, it cannot hurt.
