In Windows, the "Print Scrn" key does not print to your printer.
When you press the "Print Scrn" a capture is taken of screen, to use this
image, open paint (or another image editing package) and select paste. You
will see the image that has been captured. You can then save/edit as you
please.
A good (free) image package can be found at www.irfanview.com (download all
the plugins also).
Another neat trick is to hold the "Alt" key down at the same time as you
press the "Print Scrn" button, this will capture an image of the active
window at that time.

Neil,
Natively, Windows does not print directly to the printer when using Print
Screen. You need to view the contents of the clipboard to see the image;
Start>Run>clipbrd (typed in the caption box)
There are 3rd party utilities which will print the results directly to the
printer, use Google to search for them; PrintKey is a good choice, it's
free, and can be obtained by visiting;

Neil,
1) Look on the top row of buttons on your keyboard - the one with F1,F2,
etc. OK, at the right hand end there will be a button marked "Prt Scr" or
"Print Screen".
If you press this key, an image of what is visible on your monitor will be
stored in memory in the Windows Clipboard.
2) To see what you've "captured", open WordPad [Start Button|All
Programs|Accessories] menu and then Click on the Edit|Paste menu item.
3) Then, if you want, you could print this image or save it to disk.
If you want an image just of the currently selected window (ie bar on top of
the window is *not* grey) then Press Alt+Prt Scr keys and then follow the
above instructions from step 2.
