Dear all,

I used a PC running on Win XP to share 2 printers on the
network in my company, one connected using parallel port
and the other using USB. The other PCs, that were running
on Win 98, on the network can see the printer connected
using parallel port but not for the one connected using
USB. Why?

I encountered another problem on my network that the PCs
running on Win 98 cannot see PCs running on Win XP. I got
to know from someone that Win XP had to install additional
software or pack to solve the problem. Is it true? If so,
where can I get the software?

Regards,
Joe

I think Win 98 only saw the parrellel printer because its
not programmed to use usb printers or someting like that.
The newer systems should work if you configure it right
which can be hard sometimes if it dosent accept this that
you have to set all these options blah blah blah....

PS and if you use the win xp net wizard try different
things like setting up the printers as pc or not or set
up something like that. Also make sure your network hub
supports all the pcs and versions of printers and stuff
and if your not using a hub make sure the main pc has all
the drivers installed.
