separate users

I have to users (profiles?) to log into.

I thought if I changed the desktop on one user it would NOT change the
desktop on the other.

This was incorrect. Why? How do I keep the setting for the two users
completely separate?

Check the C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS folder. You can find DESKTOP
subfolders in each personal profile folder and in the ALL USERS
folder. Items in this latter folder will appear on all Desktops and
will vanish from all Desktops if you delete them.
Store personal Desktop items in the personal DESKTOP folders
therefore.
