[Peter Flint]

After recently installing windows xp pro the graphics
card drivers do not seen to be installed.

There are no devices under device manager. When i attempt
to reinstall the drivers it seems to install them
properly but does not work. We have taken the card out
and re insatlled it, but the problem is the monitor comes
of the card and when we reboot the machine we cannot se
the display monitor. The graphics card is Nvidia G Force
4 Ti/Mx 128 mb.

Please can someone help.

Hi, I'm sorry about I don't understand what "the monitor comes of the
card" means. If you have reseated the card, checked that no pins are
bent or broken on the cable and/or monitor connectors, and updated the
video card drivers from Nvidia's site and you still are not getting a
picture: attach the computer to a different monitor. If everything
works now, you know the problem is with your monitor or its cable. If
you are still having problems and cannot get an image on a different
monitor, swap out the video card for one that is known-working. If
everything works well now, then you know your original video card has
died. If you still have a problem, then try a pci video card. If it
works, the agp slot on your motherboard is bad. Et cetera.

If you are uncomfortable working with hardware, it might be a better
idea to take the machine to a good local computer repair shop.

Sorry i think i mislead you.

The monitor works fine but the graphics cards drivers are
installed but in device manager there are no display
adapter options available.

What i meant by "the monitor comes of the card" is that
the monitor is pluged into the graphics card, and i am
unable to take out the graphics card and reseat it
because i will not have a screen when the machine boots
up.

The system im using is xp pro.

This means that XP isn't using the graphic card drivers for your
specific card but rather is using the standard vga driver. Try
downloading drivers from Nvidia's website and installing them again.

??? Of course your monitor is plugged into the graphics card - that's
how the visual system of a computer works. Certainly you shouldn't be
reseating any hardware components while the computer is on and running!
Turn the computer off and then open it up. Disconnect the monitor from
the video card. Check that all pins on the monitor cable are in good
shape; i.e., not bent or broken. Carefully remove the video card from
its slot in the computer. Carefully reseat it in its slot. Reconnect
the monitor cable to the video card.

When your computer first boots, at the very top of the screen in white
letters on a black background you should see the name of your video
card, something like "Nvidia TI/MMX 32MB". Do you see this? Are you
sure you are attaching the monitor cable to the Nvidia card and not to
an onboard graphics connector (where the video is built-into the
motherboard)?

I still think you'll be better off taking the machine to a good local
computer repair shop, but if you want more help please do repost.
Include the make/model of your monitor and video card as previously
requested, as well as what you've already done to troubleshoot.
