I'm assuming this is leftovers from a freeware RAM
Cleaner program I used for a few days until finding out
it did nothing really. I have uninstalled the program,
and used Add/Remove pro to check the registry (as well as
manually checking the software key). YET it still shows
as an option in the startup tab (msconfig). It's not
checked, but I'm curious as to what else it may be
snooping around in. I've run S&D and Spybot and I'm
clean. Any suggestions? Is there a registry entry
specifically for the startup progs?

Thanks! ALSO... please take a look at my message 5 ot 6
back (background question)... I know someone has to know
this, I just can't figure it out.

Thanks in advance!

Look at the path to the start up item you want to remove from msconfig.
usually these items start from either the start up folder or from the
registry Run keys. Go to that location and remove the entry for the program.

Another option.

If you uncheck an item in the msconfig/start up list, it is moved to a
different location in the registry.

Go to Start/Run, type: Regedit and press OK.

Navigate to this location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder

You will see a subkey for each disabled item that was starting from the
start up folder. Right click these keys and select Delete.

For items that were from the Registry, navigate to this location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

Delete the selected keys there.
