Help I must be a computer idiot. When I go to search on
the internet, I type one letter and the address bar
brings up suggestions that start with that same letter
that I may want to use. Is there any way that I can
disable this feature?

Assuming you use Internet Explorer:
1.. Click the tools menu.
2.. Select Internet Options.
3.. Click on the content tab.
4.. Click the AutoComplete button.
5.. Take the checkmark out of Web Addresses and click ok twice.
