Red X Icon

What's the deal with the pictures being replaced with red
x's. Sometimes when I try to open a message on yahoo like
an ad from tigerdirect.com (a company I trust and deal
with), sometimes the pictures of items is nothing more
than a square icon with a red x inside it. I try right
clicking and "show picture", it doesn't work. Other
times, the ads open correctly right away. I don't know if
it's spystopper (I've tried shutting it down - to no
avail) or Norton antivirus or what.
One thing I do know, it's really irritating!
