faded tiles ??

I,m not sure if I am saying this right. In My Pictures
folder, the icons\tiles used to be clear, now for some
reason they are faded, hard to see but still visible.
This applies to all of the icons\tiles throughout the
hard drive. Only the media stuff, ie. movie\picture\video
are affected. the regular icons, desktop stuff like that
are good. Any ideas. Thanks

If you are set to show Hidden files they are shown faded.

Type in a command prompt
attrib <path to file>

eg

attrib "C:\Documents and Settings\David Candy\My Documents\My =
Pictures\Bambi & Kimba, 1981, Campsie.gif"

which will tell you attributes set.

Try this:
In any affected folder, press CNTL-A (to select all).
Right-click on any item, and select "Refresh Thumbnails".
