I just built a computer for my son and purchased a new
copy of WindowsXP Home Edition. On the initial start-up,
I lost power momentarily. After getting back up and
running, installing locks up and we get the error
message, "the file pci.sys is corrupted". Where can I
return this cd to get a new one. I ordered this on-line
and don't feel like waiting another two weeks for the
replacement.

On some systems bios, they have a normal performance, try using it instead.

To repair the pci.sys file, try booting off the Windows XP Home CD and do a
repair

There is nothing wrong with your Windows XP Home CD, you don't need to
return it

Thanks
