View Full Version : unrecognized file versions

Every time I boot up, my computer spends a bunch of time
searching the hard drive and eventually shows a message
requesting that I insert my XP Pro CD, as there are
unrecognized file versions on my computer. To the best of
my knowledge, this followed a Windows Update that I did,
but I could be wrong.

Is there anyway I can tell my computer to simply accept
what it has and stop asking about the current file versions???

From within Windows run "SFC /scannow" and put in your CD when prompted.

Do a full scan manually. Put the CD in the drive and exit the autorun,
then go to Start - Run and run
SFC /SCANNOW
